Portfolio Profile

Key Benefits of the LMEP TOBCO Bond Wrapper

THE LMEP TOBCO INVESTMENT BOND is a whole-of-life unit linked single premium life assurance policy where premiums are invested in units/shares of your selected portfolio-style funds.

The Bond can be based on single or multiple lives assured and, except in the event of the Bond being surrendered, the benefits will become payable on the death of the Life Assured or, in the case of a multiple life Bond, on the death of the last surviving Life Assured.

Potential Tax Benefits

For UK Residents, your investment in the Bond will grow virtually tax-free (except for the deduction of irrecoverable withholding tax on dividend income) in the underlying funds as income and capital gains will accumulate without deduction of any taxes.

Higher Growth Potential

The TOBCO OFFSHORE INVESTMENT BOND provides the opportunity for a high rate of growth for your investment.
You can choose from a wide range of investments to maximise this potential and the Bond can be linked to any one or more "portfolio-style" funds offered by some of the world's leading investment managers. At any later date, the allocation of your investment between funds can be changed.
The funds selected are subject to the provisions of Luxembourg insurance legislation and to such limitations on diversification of investment.

The LMEP TOBCO Offshore Investment Bond ... an alternative investment, simple and effective, for growth and income.

Additional Investments

As a subscriber to the LMEP TOBCO OFFSHORE INVESTMENT BOND, your only obligation is to make one single payment. After this, it is generally possible to make additional "top-up" payments at any time.

What are the costs?

Our simple fee structure enables you to clearly see the progress or the performance of your investment. Fees are shown separately for the insurance "wrapper" and for the underlying investments.
The percentage of your investment in the funds and the annual maintenance charges are set out in your personalised Key Features Document, which also incorporates a Client Specific Illustration. The only additional charges will be those applied in the event of switches (two free switches are permitted per annum) or of surrender of the Bond within the first six years.

Selecting A Portfolio Profile

Market volatility is the investor's main short-term risk with the long-term challenge often coming from the effects of inflation. It is easy to see why investors are advised to avoid short-term equity investment or long-term cash deposits. By the same token, we should embrace diversified and well-spread equities in the long-term and where possible avoid cash deposits.
An individual's investment horizon is a critical factor in choosing the style of portfolio required to achieve specific investment objectives. For most, the equity content of any portfolio is a worthwhile proxy for the period over which one is likely to be invested. The various TOBCO portfolios vary from cautious/defensive (5 to 8 year investment horizon) through balanced to dynamic growth (12 years and over investment horizon).
Additionally, strategies that are more adventurous may be considered where the prospect of targeted high-risk growth is a specified requirement of the investor.

Management Freedom

All gains realised within the LMEP TOBCO OFFSHORE INVESTMENT BOND are free of Capital Gains Tax, enabling unit holders to allow the portfolios to be managed solely on investment criteria and free of tax considerations.
When held within the LMEP TOBCO OFFSHORE INVESTMENT BOND, the underlying portfolio funds will accrue free of all taxes (with the exception of some irrecoverable withholding tax on dividend income) until such time as bond encashments are made.
